Environment Texas has asked Whataburger to stop using polystyrene cups, but so far their efforts have not yielded any less use of styrofoam usage from the company. Below is a map of areas that have instated polystyrene bans, or have legislation proposed. SAS is based in Austin, Texas and is motivated to encourage individuals to quit styrofoam, persuade businesses to stop or cut down on their use of styrofoam, and get legislation passed to regulate the styrofoam. Austin had a plastic bag ban in place and we are planning to model a prospective styrofoam ban off of.
